About William Morgan Shuster

William Morgan Shuster represents an ideal that rarely has been achieved in the past. A private citizen who was able through his own will-power to enact radical change in a country and to be able to challenge the colonial forces that were eroding the last shreds of autonomy and independence in Iran. Moreover, he represents the ideal of an actor seeking to establish good governance in the quest of helping a state run itself better and have the resources to act autonomously. It is with this backdrop, and in the context of increased geopolitical disorder, predatory powers, as well as the rise of authoritarianism and mendacious oligarchy that the lessons of 1912 Iran ring particularly true once more – and why we believe that given the changes that are happening to Iran and the rest of the world that we should heed again William Morgan Shuster and his work.
